JRG Energy formed a multi-disciplinary team of specialised geothermal experts to perform a technical risk review and due diligence for a geothermal project in Ethiopia. The review assessed reservoir characteristics, development risks, and technical uncertainties, providing an independent evaluation to support investment decision-making.
Direct-Use Feasibility Study — Dairy Application
JRG Energy performed a desktop feasibility study for a dairy client, assessing the viability of utilising existing geothermal resources for direct-use heating. The study evaluated available geothermal resources, system design options, and economic performance to determine the potential for integrating geothermal heat into dairy processing operations.
Well Testing — St Vincent Geothermal Exploration
JRG Energy performed geothermal well testing and wireline surveys on three exploration wells in St Vincent. Work characterised the geothermal resource potential of the wells, providing data on reservoir temperature, pressure, and fluid characteristics to inform the development pathway for St Vincent’s geothermal energy programme.
Coil Tubing Scale Removal Campaign
JRG Energy successfully launched an innovative coil tubing scale removal campaign in the Philippines. The programme addressed scale build-up across the PGPC well portfolio, with JRG providing engineering design, equipment sourcing, operational supervision, and technical expertise to restore and enhance well productivity.
Slickline and Wireline Training Course
JRG Energy was contracted to teach a slickline and wireline course for thermal well testing to EDC Philippines operations personnel. The course covered equal parts theory and practical technique, building operational capability for wireline logging, tool operation, and data acquisition in high-temperature geothermal wells.
Geology Consulting and On-Job Training
JRG Energy provided geological consulting services for two UNEP ARGeo projects in Uganda and Tanzania. Scope included geological data collection, interpretation, and on-the-job training for local geoscientists, supporting the development of in-country expertise and contributing to regional geothermal resource assessments.
Geothermal Technical Assistance
Through NZ MFAT, JRG Energy provided managerial and technical capacity-building support to the Geothermal Development Company (GDC) in Kenya. Support covered operational guidance, technical expertise, and knowledge transfer to strengthen GDC’s capacity to develop and manage Kenya’s geothermal resources.
Coil Tubing Scale Removal
JRG Energy worked with Energy Development Corporation (EDC) in the Philippines to execute a coil-tubing scale-removal campaign. The project targeted scale build-up in geothermal production wells, with JRG providing technical expertise and operational support to restore well productivity and extend asset life.
Wireline and Well Testing
JRG Energy provided wireline personnel and equipment to enable Mariott Drilling to perform geothermal wireline logging and well testing operations in Ethiopia. Services supported the characterisation of geothermal resources and contributed to the development of Ethiopia’s geothermal energy potential.
High-Temperature Packer Deployment
JRG Energy provided high-temperature equipment procurement, engineering services, and operational support for a packer deployment programme in Indonesian geothermal wells. The project required specialised tools rated for high-temperature and high-pressure downhole conditions, with JRG managing full procurement and operational execution.
