Feasibility and Detailed Feasibility for Large Industrial Gas User
Australia
Pre-feasibility study for the installation of a direct use geothermal heating solution at a large industrial facility in Western Australia. JRG Energy has completed a preliminary feasibility study for a large industrial facility in Western Australia. Results indicated that the target geothermal reservoir is anticipated to be hot enough, shallow enough and permeable enough. A conceptual design for 11 MW project was put together to offset 55% of the current gas demand and a 40% reduction of CO2 emissions (8500 tons). if the project processes to implementation this would become Australia's largest direct-use project. JRG Energy is currently working on the detailed feasibility study and is supporting the client in its application for funding with ARENA (the Australian Renewable Energy agency).

Geological Review and Temperature Modelling
Australia
JRG Energy offered specialist consulting services for the Pre-feasibility Study of the Gingerah Geothermal (GEP-47) project. The project involved data collection from existing sources and literature, a review of principal-supplied geoscientific information, and gap analysis to identify additional data needs. A 3Dconceptual model was developed, integrating geological, structural, hydrogeological, and geothermal reservoir data. Temperature modelling was undertaken using the state-of-the-art Waiwera geothermal simulator. The initial resource assessment evaluated the viability of geothermal resources for power generation or direct-use heat. Additional considerations included current geothermal reconnaissance methodologies, comparisons with similar projects worldwide, and potential investors and off-takers.
