JRG RECENT PROJECTS
Reservoir Modelling
Australia
JRG Energy was contracted to provide the reservoir modelling for a geothermal energy supply project in the Gippsland Basin. A comprehensive Leapfrog geological model was used to build the mesh for the reservoir modelling. The model was then calibrated in Natural State against 40 existing wells with temperature data. The high gradients in parts of the model (up to 150°C/km) where resolved well using a highly refined Waiwera model.
2022
Feasibility Study
France
JRG Energy assisted Rockwater with the preparation of a Feasibility study for the integration of geothermal heat to a large-scale industrial application in the Parisian Basin. The project included destocking of legacy seismic data and reprocessing of 2D seismic lines. The data was used to assess the viability of the geothermal project and used as input for quick-look reservoir modelling and geochemistry modelling to support the conclusions of the Feasibility Study.
2023
Reservoir Modelling
France
JRG Energy developed a semi-regional reservoir model to evaluate the viability of future wells and assist with existing geothermal assets management. The main tasks included:
- Developing geological model using Leapfrog, based on existing model in Petrel,
- Reviewing available geoscience data and production records,
- Developing reservoir model using Waiwera including over 40 years of historical production / injection data,
- Running predictive simulations to evaluate the viability and performance of future geothermal wells.
