Geothermal Potential Screening Study — Continental USA

JRG Energy delivered a high-level geothermal potential screening study for the continental United States. Scope covered geothermal power generation potential across existing and new concessions, identification of established US industry partners, and a review of the regulatory and incentive framework including permitting, subsidies and tax incentives for geothermal development
Site Evaluation and Subsurface Hydrogeology for WavePark

JRG Energy assessed a proposed WavePark site for geothermal suitability, providing analysis of subsurface hydrogeology and geothermal characteristics. The report summarised site suitability for geothermal systems and evaluated the available options for integrating geothermal heating into the development at the current stage of project planning.
Pre-Feasibility and Business Case — Hydrogen Development

JRG Energy prepared a pre-feasibility study evaluating the technical and commercial practicality of utilising existing hydrocarbon assets for hydrogen production. Existing asset data were analysed against realistic grey, blue and green hydrogen business scenarios. The final deliverable provided a comprehensive business case on the feasibility and profitability of hydrogen utilisation across the existing asset portfolio.Â
Geothermal Feasibility Study — Parisian Basin

JRG Energy supported Rockwater in preparing a feasibility study for integrating geothermal heat into a large-scale industrial application in the Parisian Basin. Work included destocking and reprocessing of legacy 2D seismic data, quick-look reservoir modelling, and geochemistry modelling. Outputs were used to assess project viability and support the conclusions of the feasibility study.
Reservoir Modelling: Gippsland Basin

JRG Energy was contracted to undertake reservoir modelling for a geothermal energy supply project in the Gippsland Basin. A comprehensive Leapfrog geological model was built and used to construct the simulation mesh. The model was calibrated to Natural State conditions against 40 existing wells with temperature data. High thermal gradients of up to 150°C/km were […]
Geothermal Consulting Support — Exploration Licences

JRG Energy provided on-demand consulting support to several geothermal explorers across Australia. Services included review of conventional and next-generation EGS potential, and description of geothermal exploration strategies suited to each tenement, covering geophysics and slim-hole drilling methods.Â
Geophysical 3D MT/Gravity Modelling for Geothermal Exploration

Contracted by IGNIS Energy, JRG developed a combined Magnetotelluric and gravity 3D inversion model to identify and interpret subsurface geothermal features in Alaska. The integrated approach improved subsurface imaging, complementary data integration, and reservoir characterisation accuracy, delivering a comprehensive understanding of the geothermal potential and supporting informed decision-making for subsequent exploration and development.
Dunaújváros Maltings Plant Geothermal Feasibility

JRG Energy assessed geothermal heating potential for a malting plant in Dunaújváros, located approximately 70 km south of Budapest in the Pannonian Basin — one of Europe’s most prospective geothermal regions. The study evaluated the suitability of naturally porous and permeable sedimentary reservoir rocks for direct-use geothermal, assessing temperature, depth, and permeability requirements against the plant’s process heat demand to identify a viable low-carbon heating pathway.
Aquaculture & Greenhouse Heating

JRG Energy completed a high-level assessment of geothermal potential within GEP-49 for a large aquaculture and greenhouse heating precinct. The review targeted the upper 250–500 m of the Wonnerup Member of the Lesueur Sandstone, mapping reservoir depth across the licence area to identify the most prospective zones for low-temperature direct-use geothermal development to support the proposed agricultural and food production operations.
Regina Deep Geothermal Heating

JRG Energy was selected by MacPherson Engineering to provide geothermal advisory services for the City of Regina’s deep geothermal heating facility, designed to supply energy to a new indoor aquatics centre. JRG’s role spans five project phases from pre-design through commissioning, fulfilling both the Global Advisor (facilitating site visits in Europe) and Local Advisor roles(through Aetna) specified […]
