Asset Management Capacity Building for Drilling Equipment

Asset Management Capacity Building for Drilling Equipment

Funded by the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (NZ MFAT), JRG Energy led a Needs Assessment for drilling equipment asset management across four partner organisations: Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP, Ethiopia), Geothermal Development Company (GDC, Kenya), Tanzania Geothermal Development Company (TGDC, Tanzania), and Office de Développement de l’Energie Géothermique (ODDEG, Djibouti). Deliverables included site […]

Managed Pressure Drilling — Capacity Building & Equipment Procurement

JRG Energy supported Orllati Geothermie in developing their Managed Pressure Drilling (MPD) capability, successfully designing and procuring approximately $1M of equipment through a competitive tender. The scope also included well control capacity building, local permitting and regulatory support, and oversight of the first successful drill using the new equipment.MPD technology enables precise bottomhole pressure control to address narrow drilling […]

Gran Canaria Deep Geothermal Feasibility & Drilling Programme

JRG Energy is providing technical assistance and project management for the AGEOGC EV feasibility study on deep geothermal resources in southeast GranCanaria. The scope covers project coordination, regulatory and IDAE compliance, geoscience data integration, conceptual and numerical reservoir modelling, resource evaluation and exploration well targeting, drilling programme preparation and IDS tender documentation, plus supervision of up to three ~2,700 m […]

Roseau Valley Geothermal Project

JRG Energy mobilised wireline personnel and equipment on short notice to support Iceland Drilling’s geothermal drilling programme in Dominica. The scope covered equipment procurement, downhole PTS data acquisition, wireline logging and well test management, reservoir and geochemical data analysis, and professional reporting — enabling IDC to fully characterise the Roseau Valley geothermal resource in support of Dominica’s […]

St Andrews Beach Hot Springs Development

JRG Energy is supporting the development of a low-temperature geothermal groundwater system to supply naturally heated water for a proposed hot springs resort at St Andrews Beach Golf Course on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. The project targets the Lower Tertiary Werribee aquifer at 540–650m depth, with well test results confirming flows of up to 16.8 L/s at 43.3°C. Scope […]

FRENZ — Caribbean Renewable Energy Programme

JRG Energy is a core delivery partner for the NZ-MFAT funded FRENZ programme supporting geothermal and renewable energy development across the Caribbean. Activities span geoscience studies, feasibility, drilling supervision, environmental planning, and capacity building. Countries supported include Dominica, Grenada, St. Lucia, and St. Vincent, with broader engagement across Belize, Guyana, Jamaica, and regional organisations including the OECS, CDB, and CCREEE.

Brighton Thermal Gradient Well & Hot Springs Feasibility

For the development, JRG Energy designed and project-managed the construction of a ~600 m thermal gradient well, acquiring core and running wireline surveys to fully characterise the target formations. We then delivered specialist consulting to determine the technical and commercial viability of deep coaxial closed-loop, shallow closed-loop, and shallow open-loop geothermal as the heating and mineral water supply for the proposed facility.
