47th New Zealand Geothermal Workshop

The 47th New Zealand Geothermal Workshop is scheduled for 11–13 November 2025, and will be held at the Sir Howard Morrison Centre in Rotorua, New Zealand. Organized by a committee including Sadiq J. Zarrouk, John O’Sullivan, Bridget Lynne, Mike O’Sullivan, and Michael Gravatt, the workshop will bring together researchers, industry experts, government officials, and community stakeholders to explore innovations and trends in geothermal energy.

The event will feature technical presentations, poster sessions, and discussion panels across a range of topics: geology, geophysics, geochemistry, reservoir modelling, environmental aspects, drilling and well testing, direct use applications, scaling & corrosion, and social/community engagement including Mātauranga Māori.  A programme component includes a tour of direct-use sites and geothermal features around Rotorua, offering insights into environmental management and the local geothermal landscape.
