JRG Energy’s near-surface and direct-use geothermal team brings together hydrogeologists, geoscientists, reservoir engineers, and project managers with
deep experience in low- and moderate-temperature geothermal applications across sedimentary basins, urban environments, and post-mining settings.

Together, our team delivers end-to-end advisory and design services — from initial resource assessment through feasibility, design, and commissioning — for
projects ranging from individual building heating and cooling to industrial-scale baseload thermal supply, thermal energy storage applications, and large
district heating networks.

We provide a full range of near-surface and direct-use geothermal services, drawing on project experience across Europe, North America and Australasia, and
covering shallow ground source through to deep sedimentary aquifer applications, including but not limited to:

  • Subsurface geology and hydrogeology characterization
  • Ground Source Heat Pump (GSHP) feasibility and system option studies (open-loop and close-loop)
  • Deep coaxial closed-loop and standing column well feasibility studies
  • Aquifer Thermal Energy Storage
  • Mine water geothermal feasibility and integration studies
  • Reservoir modelling and history matching for district heating projects
  • Technical expert review of district heating dossiers and regulatory compliance
  • Industrial process heat integration and heat exchange system review
  • CAPEX/OPEX estimation, uncertainty assessment, and investment-decision support
  • Global and local advisory roles through to commissioning agent services
  • Tendering and award procedures (call for tenders, evaluation of offers, bidder meetings and awarding recommendations)
  • Permitting and approval support across exploration and production phases
  • Financial Modelling (IRR, payback, LCOH etc.)
  • Risk assessment and risk management coordination
  • Project coordination, leadership, organisation, supervision, scheduling and documentation
