Geothermal Feasibility Study — Parisian Basin

Geothermal Feasibility Study — Parisian Basin

JRG Energy supported Rockwater in preparing a feasibility study for integrating geothermal heat into a large-scale industrial application in the Parisian Basin. Work included destocking and reprocessing of legacy 2D seismic data, quick-look reservoir modelling, and geochemistry modelling. Outputs were used to assess project viability and support the conclusions of the feasibility study.

Reservoir Modelling: Gippsland Basin

JRG Energy was contracted to undertake reservoir modelling for a geothermal energy supply project in the Gippsland Basin. A comprehensive Leapfrog geological model was built and used to construct the simulation mesh. The model was calibrated to Natural State conditions against 40 existing wells with temperature data. High thermal gradients of up to 150°C/km were […]

Geothermal Consulting Support — Exploration Licences

JRG Energy provided on-demand consulting support to several geothermal explorers across Australia. Services included review of conventional and next-generation EGS potential, and description of geothermal exploration strategies suited to each tenement, covering geophysics and slim-hole drilling methods.

Reservoir Model Handover Training

JRG Energy delivered a reservoir training workshop in Paris to transfer knowledge of a dynamic semi-regional Dogger reservoir model developed for the Ile-de-France region. The model, built by JRG since 2023 and used across multiple predictive simulations, supports industrial geothermal resource management. The workshop equipped client engineers to independently run future simulations and covered model […]

Geophysical 3D MT/Gravity Modelling for Geothermal Exploration

Contracted by IGNIS Energy, JRG developed a combined Magnetotelluric and gravity 3D inversion model to identify and interpret subsurface geothermal features in Alaska. The integrated approach improved subsurface imaging, complementary data integration, and reservoir characterisation accuracy, delivering a comprehensive understanding of the geothermal potential and supporting informed decision-making for subsequent exploration and development.

Paris, Aquitaine & Upper Rhine Graben Geothermal Modelling

JRG Energy has been providing ongoing geothermal reservoir modelling services to ENGIE across three major French sedimentary basins. Using Leapfrog for geological modelling and Waiwera for reservoir simulation, JRG has history-matched over 100 wells with production records dating back to the 1970s and simulated 234 MWth of new geothermal capacity — sufficient to supply heat to 150,000 people. JRG also delivers well […]

Enhanced Geothermal Systems — EGS Review, South Australia

JRG Energy was engaged to produce an executive summary review of a techno-economic study covering South Australian geothermal exploration licences. The review assessed the potential for next-generation Enhanced Geothermal Systems (EGS) across the Flinders West and Paralana prospects, with full field development and economics evaluated for the Paralana Omega prospect. JRG provided findings and recommendations based on geothermal industry expertise and comparable […]

Gingerah Geothermal Pre-feasibility Study

JRG Energy delivered a pre-feasibility study for the Gingerah Geothermal(GEP-47) project, integrating geological, structural, hydrogeological, and geothermal reservoir data into a 3D conceptual model. Temperature modelling was performed using the Waiwera geothermal simulator, and an initial resource assessment evaluated viability for power generation using EGS technology. The study also benchmarked the project against comparable global projects and identified potential investors and off-takers.

Gran Canaria Deep Geothermal Feasibility & Drilling Programme

JRG Energy is providing technical assistance and project management for the AGEOGC EV feasibility study on deep geothermal resources in southeast GranCanaria. The scope covers project coordination, regulatory and IDAE compliance, geoscience data integration, conceptual and numerical reservoir modelling, resource evaluation and exploration well targeting, drilling programme preparation and IDS tender documentation, plus supervision of up to three ~2,700 m […]

St Andrews Beach Hot Springs Development

JRG Energy is supporting the development of a low-temperature geothermal groundwater system to supply naturally heated water for a proposed hot springs resort at St Andrews Beach Golf Course on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. The project targets the Lower Tertiary Werribee aquifer at 540–650m depth, with well test results confirming flows of up to 16.8 L/s at 43.3°C. Scope […]
