Site Evaluation and Subsurface Hydrogeology for WavePark

JRG Energy assessed a proposed WavePark site for geothermal suitability, providing analysis of subsurface hydrogeology and geothermal characteristics. The report summarised site suitability for geothermal systems and evaluated the available options for integrating geothermal heating into the development at the current stage of project planning.
Reservoir Modelling: Gippsland Basin

JRG Energy was contracted to undertake reservoir modelling for a geothermal energy supply project in the Gippsland Basin. A comprehensive Leapfrog geological model was built and used to construct the simulation mesh. The model was calibrated to Natural State conditions against 40 existing wells with temperature data. High thermal gradients of up to 150°C/km were […]
Geothermal Consulting Support — Exploration Licences

JRG Energy provided on-demand consulting support to several geothermal explorers across Australia. Services included review of conventional and next-generation EGS potential, and description of geothermal exploration strategies suited to each tenement, covering geophysics and slim-hole drilling methods.Â
Aquaculture & Greenhouse Heating

JRG Energy completed a high-level assessment of geothermal potential within GEP-49 for a large aquaculture and greenhouse heating precinct. The review targeted the upper 250–500 m of the Wonnerup Member of the Lesueur Sandstone, mapping reservoir depth across the licence area to identify the most prospective zones for low-temperature direct-use geothermal development to support the proposed agricultural and food production operations.
St Andrews Beach Hot Springs Development

JRG Energy is supporting the development of a low-temperature geothermal groundwater system to supply naturally heated water for a proposed hot springs resort at St Andrews Beach Golf Course on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula. The project targets the Lower Tertiary Werribee aquifer at 540–650m depth, with well test results confirming flows of up to 16.8 L/s at 43.3°C. Scope […]
Peninsula Hot Springs Vendor Due Diligence

JRG Energy were engaged to prepare a vendor due diligence sales assessment for Peninsula Hot Springs, a leading geothermal mineral springs and wellness destination offering over 70 bathing and wellness experiences. The assessment provided prospective purchasers with a comprehensive technical overview of the site’s geothermal water infrastructure, supporting the proposed divestment of the facility.
Mine Water Geothermal Project Australia

Building on a prior high-level assessment of using local mine water as a low-carbon thermal source, JRG Energy delivered the next-stage technical, economic, and risk-based feasibility for integrating mine water geothermal into the greenfield Peter Krenz Leisure Centre. Deliverables include a project inception report and plan, a review of licences and agreements required, an uncertainty and reliability assessment of […]
Australian Maltings Plant Geothermal Heating Feasibility

JRG Energy assessed a geothermal heating system designed to deliver ~10MW of baseload thermal energy for Boortmalt’s Perth maltings plant — its highest heat demand Australian facility. The system targets the plant’s dominant low-temperature heat demand (~60°C), achieving an estimated 42% emissions reduction and over 339,000 tonnes of COâ‚‚ savings across a 30-year operating life. The study confirmed commercial […]
Brighton Thermal Gradient Well & Hot Springs Feasibility

For the development, JRG Energy designed and project-managed the construction of a ~600 m thermal gradient well, acquiring core and running wireline surveys to fully characterise the target formations. We then delivered specialist consulting to determine the technical and commercial viability of deep coaxial closed-loop, shallow closed-loop, and shallow open-loop geothermal as the heating and mineral water supply for the proposed facility.
