Reservoir Modelling: Gippsland Basin

JRG Energy was contracted to undertake reservoir modelling for a geothermal energy supply project in the Gippsland Basin. A comprehensive Leapfrog geological model was built and used to construct the simulation mesh. The model was calibrated to Natural State conditions against 40 existing wells with temperature data. High thermal gradients of up to 150°C/km were resolved using a highly refined Waiwera model.
