Latin American (LATAM) Geothermal Congress

The LATAM Geothermal Congress (LGC) 2025 will take place from 22–25 September 2025 in San Salvador, El Salvador, bringing together geothermal professionals, researchers, and policymakers from across the region. This inaugural event provides a platform to exchange knowledge through technical presentations, poster sessions, and roundtable discussions, with topics ranging from low- and high-temperature geothermal applications to policy, technology, environmental, and social considerations.

A highlight of the congress will be a field visit to the Ahuachapán Geothermal Plant, celebrating 50 years of operation and offering participants valuable insights into long-term project sustainability. By fostering collaboration and dialogue, LGC 2025 aims to build a shared vision for the future of geothermal energy in Latin America.
